Hostinger VPS gives you your own virtual server with root access, dedicated vCPU and RAM, and NVMe storage, from about $6.49 a month. It sits one step above shared and Cloud hosting: more power and freedom, but you are the one running the server. We went through all four plans on October 16, 2026, and noted the sale and renewal prices of each one.

The short answer
- Best value: KVM 2. Two vCPU cores and 8 GB of RAM for $8.99 a month, which is enough for several WordPress sites, a WooCommerce store or a set of Docker apps.
- Cheapest way in: KVM 1 at $6.49 a month: 1 vCPU and 4 GB of RAM, fine for one app, a staging server or an automation tool like n8n.
- For agencies and busy stores: KVM 4 (4 vCPU, 16 GB RAM). KVM 8 is for heavy workloads such as large databases or many containers.
- Know before you buy: prices are for a 24-month term paid upfront, and each plan renews at a higher monthly rate.

What you can run on a Hostinger VPS
When you order, Hostinger lets you choose what to install, and you can change it later from the VPS dashboard:
- Plain operating systems: Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Alpine, Arch, CentOS and CloudLinux were offered in our cart.
- Control panels, if you prefer a dashboard to the command line.
- Ready-made application templates: Docker with Traefik, plus self-hosted AI and automation tools such as Dify and Agent Zero were listed among the popular templates.
Server locations included the United States, Brazil, Germany, Lithuania, India and Malaysia in the picker, and Hostinger says it runs 10 VPS data centers across 4 continents. Pick the one closest to your visitors.
Hostinger VPS vs shared hosting vs Cloud Startup
| Shared (Premium, Unlimited) | Cloud Startup | VPS (KVM) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who manages the server | Hostinger | Hostinger | You (root access) |
| Resources | Shared, with limits | Dedicated, with limits | Dedicated vCPU and RAM |
| Custom software | PHP, Node.js on some plans | PHP, Node.js | Anything Linux runs |
| Best for | Sites and blogs | Busy WordPress and stores | Apps, Docker, custom stacks |
If you only run WordPress, a VPS is usually more work than it is worth: Cloud Startup gives you dedicated resources with Hostinger handling updates and security. Our Cloud Startup review covers that plan. Choose a VPS when you need software shared hosting cannot run, such as Docker containers, a custom Node or Python service, a database server or your own mail stack.
What we tell clients before they buy a VPS
We build and host sites for clients, and the VPS conversation is always the same. A VPS is fast and flexible, but it is a server, and servers need looking after:
- Security updates are on you. Turn on automatic security updates for the OS and keep the firewall closed except for the ports you use.
- Backups are on you too. Weekly backups are included; if the site takes orders every day, add daily backups or your own off-server copies.
- Size for RAM, not CPU. Most small servers run out of memory long before they run out of CPU. That is why KVM 2, with 8 GB, is the plan we suggest most often.
- Plan the renewal. KVM 2 renews at $14.99 a month. Put the date in your calendar so it is not a surprise.
If you would rather not manage a server, our WordPress team can set one up and maintain it, or suggest a managed plan instead.
