Hostinger Premium is the plan most people buy first, because it has the lowest price on the page. That makes it worth knowing exactly where its limits are before you commit to four years. We build and host websites for clients, and this review explains what each number on the plan card means for a real website, what it costs over the full term, and when you should pick a different plan.

Verdict in one paragraph
Premium is a good, cheap home for one to three small websites: a blog, a portfolio, a landing page or a brochure site for a local business. It is the wrong choice for an online store, for anyone who needs more than three sites, and for anyone who cannot live with weekly backups. If you are on the fence, the Unlimited plan costs only $1 a month more on a 48-month term and removes most of these limits.

What the numbers mean for your website
3 websites
Each website is a separate domain with its own files and database. Three is enough for a main site plus a side project or a staging copy.
20 GB of SSD storage
A typical WordPress site with a few hundred optimised images uses 1–3 GB. The space usually fills up from things you forget about: backup plugins that keep copies on the same account, old uploads and log files. Twenty gigabytes is comfortable for three small sites if you store backups elsewhere. Note that the bigger plans use NVMe drives, which are faster than SSD for database-heavy sites, although for a small, cached site you will not notice the difference.
400,000 inodes
An inode is one file or folder. WordPress itself is around 2,000 files, and every image you upload creates several resized copies. Inodes rarely limit a blog, but an online store with thousands of product images, or a site that keeps many local backups, can reach the limit before the storage is full.
40 PHP workers, 2 GB RAM and 1 CPU core
PHP workers decide how many uncached requests your sites can handle at the same moment: logged-in users, cart and checkout pages, search, or the WordPress admin. Visitors reading cached pages barely touch them. With a caching plugin such as LiteSpeed Cache, Premium handles a steady stream of readers easily; it struggles when many people do dynamic things at once, which is exactly what a busy shop does.
Weekly backups
This is the limit we warn clients about most. If something breaks on a Friday and the last backup ran on Sunday, everything since Sunday is gone: new posts, form entries and, for a shop, orders. You can close the gap with a backup plugin that copies your site to cloud storage every day, but that is one more thing to set up and watch. Unlimited and Cloud Startup include daily backups.

The 12-month figure is from our own Premium checkout in October 2026; the renewal adds 36 months at $10.99. The lesson is the same for every host: the term you choose matters more than the monthly sticker price. How the coupon stacks, and this month’s numbers for every plan, are in our guide to the best Hostinger coupon and hosting offer this month.
Who should buy Premium
- Bloggers and writers starting their first site.
- Freelancers and creators who need a portfolio.
- Local businesses that need a few pages, a contact form and a map.
- Anyone launching a landing page to test an idea.
Who should pick something else
- Online stores: weekly backups and 40 PHP workers are the wrong fit for checkouts. Start on Unlimited, or Cloud Startup if you expect real volume.
- More than three websites: Unlimited has no website cap.
- Agencies and freelancers hosting clients: you will outgrow three sites quickly; see Unlimited or Cloud Startup.
- Sites that change every day (news, communities, booking systems), where losing a week of data is not an option.
Premium or Unlimited?
On the 48-month term, Unlimited costs $3.99 a month instead of $2.99. For that $48 over four years you get unlimited websites, 50 GB of faster NVMe storage, daily backups, unlimited mailboxes, 50% more PHP workers, 3 GB of RAM and a second CPU core. The difference grows at renewal ($16.99 against $10.99 a month), so if you will only ever run one small site, Premium is the sensible choice. For almost everyone else, Unlimited is better value. Frequently asked questions
Can I upgrade from Premium later?
Yes. At the time of writing, Hostinger lets you move to a bigger plan from your account when you need more resources, so starting on Premium does not lock you in.
Is Premium good for WooCommerce?
It will run a small test store, but we would not launch a real shop on it because of the weekly backups and the limited PHP workers for checkout traffic. Unlimited is the realistic starting point for selling online.
Does Premium include email?
Yes, two mailboxes per website, free for the first year.
Is the free domain really free?
For the first year. After that it renews at Hostinger’s normal price for that domain extension.
